Explosive
Volcanoes that have Explosive eruptions shoot out clouds of hot debris, ash, and gas rapidly. They are more rare than Non-Explosive eruptions. Millions of tons of lava can be shot out during Expolsive eruptions. Ash that is shot out during explosive eruptions can reach the upper atmosphere.
Non- Explosive
Volcanoes that produce non-explosive eruptions are on land and underwater. Non-explosive eruptions produce huge amounts of lava. They are the most common type of eruption. Non-explosive eruptions produce calm flows of lava that can range from a slow creep, to 60 km/h.
